Larry Brown Back in the NBA Coaching Ranks Soon
Larry Brown was in his element, glad-handing players, coaches and NBA executives. Brown, the 76ers’ executive vice president, made the trip to Atlanta for last night’s game at Philips Arena, and he was enjoying himself. ‘I miss the game, sitting here,’ Brown said in an interview before last night’s game against the Hawks. The Hall of Fame coach said he would like to coach again in some capacity, but he doesn’t want the Sixers’ post.’I don’t want Mo’s job.
I have said that,’ Brown said about Maurice Cheeks. ‘When I came to Philly, Mo was a big part of my staff and, a matter of fact, I had to beg him to explore coaching possibilities. His growth has been amazing to me.’ In his role with the Sixers, Brown has been able to instruct players at practice. Afraid of stepping on others’ toes, he said he has worked with the players at the insistence of Cheeks and his staff. Click here for more from the Philadelphia Inquirer.
