Jason Kidd Likely Not Going Anywhere

With nine days to go until the trade deadline, it is becoming less likely that Nets president Rod Thorn will grant Jason Kidd his wish to be traded to a contender.Thorn has said he won’t give away Kidd for anything less than equal value. And Mavs owner Mark Cuban said Sunday that Dallas doesn’t want to give up the pieces to get a deal done. It likely will take a third team if Thorn is going to pull the trigger before the deadline. If not, Kidd is stuck in the Swamp for the rest of the season.

That prospect has grown slightly more appealing since the Nets (22-29) have won two straight since forward Nenad Krstic returned to the starting lineup. Krstic had been out since November to rehab his surgically repaired left knee.  The Nets host the Timberwolves (10-39) Tuesday, and should put together their first three-game winning streak since early January, when they won a season-high five in a row.
