Dallas Mavericks Need Another Point Man

No, the Mavs don’t need Jason Kidd, because breaking up the core of the team to acquire him defeats the purpose. But Donnie Nelson and Mark Cuban had better be working the phones day and night to add a point guard – the Los Angeles Clippers’ Sam Cassell or Philadelphia’s Andre Miller would fit nicely – to the roster or this postseason will be every bit as disappointing as last season’s embarrassing debacle. Cassell won’t mind taking a big shot late in the game, and at this point of his career, he’ll be happy coming off the bench for an opportunity to win a ring. More important, he won’t impede J.J. Barea’s long-term progress, because he’ll be gone at the end of the year. Click here for more from the Dallas Morning News.
