King James Unhappy Without Jason Kidd

Jason Kidd might be close to getting his wish; LeBron James isn’t. According to numerous reports, the New Jersey Nets are close to completing a trade that would send Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks. It is for a package of players, including Devin Harris and Jerry Stackhouse, but the inclusion of Devean George held up the deal after he exercised a no-trade clause Wednesday night. The teams are expected to continue talking to try to force the deal, which also includes former Cavaliers center DeSagana Diop and two first-round draft picks.

It is a potential blockbuster the likes of which the Cavaliers simply don’t have the assets to pull off, but that doesn’t make James any happier about it. Two weeks ago when Kidd went public with a trade demand, James went public with a plea for the Cavs to get him. A league source said the Cavs made a serious offer for Kidd, but they could not come close to matching the Mavs’ offer. Click here for more from the Akron Beacon Journal.
