Phoenix Suns Holding off on Shaquille O’Neal’s Debut

A week ago, you learned that Shaquille O’Neal would play for the Suns. So what’s another week? O’Neal and the Suns’ staff have decided to make his debut after the All-Star break rather than Thursday night’s game against Dallas. Phoenix plays host to O’Neal’s former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, in its first post-break game Wednesday. ‘Physically, I feel OK,’ O’Neal said Wednesday night after a pregame workout at Oracle Arena and a morning of corrective exercises.’Hip feels pretty good.

I’ve got to get my wind up a little more. I’ve just got to get in tune to what’s going on. You want to be the piece of the puzzle that fits in. You don’t want to be the piece of the puzzle that’s too small or too big so I just slide right in like I’ve been here awhile.’ When asked if there was any chance he would play Thursday night, O’Neal said, ‘Nah, because I’ve been watching a lot of tape of this team, and they’re like a real, real solid crew. I’m just learning plays. Click here for more from the Arizona Republic.
