Miami Heat On Winning End of Shawn Marion Trade

The 19 points and 16 rebounds Shawn Marion has averaged in his first two games with the Heat are obvious signs of his initial impact with the team. But guard Dwyane Wade believes Marion’s subtle contributions might be just as important. Wade said Marion’s energy and encouragement of teammates already have been contagious. ‘Shawn has natural leadership ability in him, too,’ Wade said. ‘He’s used to playing a certain way, and he expects a team to be together. You’ve seen it in Phoenix…He’s going to bring a good atmosphere around just because of what he’s used to.’ Although the Heat is 0-2 since Marion arrived in the trade that sent Shaquille O’Neal to Phoenix, coach Pat Riley said players and fans are feeding off Marion.
