David Stern is Keeping a Close Eye on the New York Knicks

During his press conference, commissioner David Stern – who may have some knowledge that the Knicks could be making some management changes, possibly with Isiah Thomas – said he’s expecting better things from the team next season.I’m optimistic, at least for next season," Stern said. Owner James Dolan and senior VP Glen Grunwald represented the Knicks this weekend. Grunwald is gearing up for the Feb. 26 trade deadline.

The Knicks have entertained offers on everyone, from Zach Randolph to Eddy Curry to Fred Jones. When the Knicks convene at practice today, a source said Stephon Marbury will be with them for the first time since his left-ankle surgery nearly a month ago, and he may begin the first stage of rehab. Marbury was away from the team because his surgery was more invasive than anticipated, requiring him to be on pain medication and off his feet. Despite the Knicks’ official stance, The Post reported Marbury is out for the season. Click here for more from the New York Post.
