Can Ben Wallace Lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA Title?

Danny Ferry didn’t think his defending Eastern Conference champions were good enough to win an NBA title. That’s the main reason the Cavaliers’ general manager engineered a blockbuster 11-player trade with the Chicago Bulls and Seattle SuperSonics as the clock wound down on the NBA trade deadline Thursday afternoon.

‘I thought we had a very good team,’ Ferry told reporters Thursday evening after trading away half his team with 28 games left in the season. ‘But I do believe if we could make ourselves better, we should try. Was it a risk? Yes, it was a risk. But we’re going to have to make some decisions that have some risk in them as we go along if we want to continue to build and grow as an organization and a team.’ Click here for more from the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
