Lebron James ‘Fan’ Could Face Jail Time
Here’s the basketball fanatic who ran onto the Madison Square Garden court to meet his idol, LeBron James – and still somehow thinks he didn’t do anything wrong. Anthony Erskine, a 17-year-old from Mount Vernon, dashed onto the hardwood to profess his twisted love for the NBA’s biggest star during Wednesday’s game between the lowly Knicks and James’ Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs won 119-105.
‘Honestly, yeah, I’d do it again,’ Anthony said yesterday, a day after he was arrested. ‘I thought this was my one chance to meet him, and I wasn’t going to miss out.’ Though James was unfazed by Anthony’s disruptive antics, the NBA star’s teammates – and Garden security – were less than thrilled with him. The single-minded teenager was forcibly grabbed by a pair of guards, hauled to an office in the bowels of the arena, and then taken to the Midtown South Precinct stationhouse. After spending four hours in the precinct’s holding cell and getting a lecture on responsibility, he was charged with criminal trespassing and then released.
