Houston Rockets Win Eighteenth Straight
Driven to reach another height in the Rockets’ climb up the standings, McGrady played every second and answered every challenge offered by the New Orleans Hornets and guard Chris Paul, pushing the Rockets to a scintillating 106-96 win on Saturday at Toyota Center.
The win extended the Rockets franchise-record winning streak to 18 games, matching the fourth-longest in NBA history. It gave them nine consecutive double-digit wins, the second-longest such streak ever. It was their 12th consecutive home win.
But after McGrady had scored 41 points on 17-of-27 shooting (the most shots anyone has made at Toyota Center), adding nine assists and six rebounds, he said he was not as pleased by his play or the streaks as fulfilling the goal of the day. [Houston Chronicle]
