Eddy Curry’s Season and Hopes for a Trade Finished

Eddy Curry’s forgettable season could be finished a few games early as the Knicks’ center may need season-ending knee surgery. The team announced last night that an MRI had revealed Curry had a small cartilage tear in his right knee. A prominent orthopedic surgeon said the tear could be a torn meniscus. The team said it will wait a few days and let Curry rest before making a decision on surgery. Curry won’t play Monday in Dallas and is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game in Miami. With 19 games left and the Knicks (18-45) a season-worst 27 games under .500, it’s likely Curry will have surgery as soon as possible.Curry could put off surgery if he responds well to treatment, but it is unlikely he’d risk further damage with the season all but over.
