Reinsdorf Backs Chicago Coach Jim Boylan


Bulls and White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf doesn’t give many interviews, especially about basketball. So when Reinsdorf talks, it’s news. Here’s what he said about the profile for whoever coaches the Bulls next season, as well as the recent off-the-court controversies surrounding the team. Chris Duhon’s punishment continued Tuesday when interim coach Jim Boylan said it was his decision to place him on the inactive list.Reinsdorf made his remarks on ‘The Mike North Morning Show’ on WSCR-AM 670.

‘The coach’ just has to be somebody that we feel will earn the respect of the players,’ Reinsdorf said. ‘That may very well be Jim Boylan…I don’t want to rule Boylan out. ‘Jim is operating under very difficult circumstances because he has the tag ‘interim.’ If he becomes the permanent coach, I think his ability to have respect and control players goes up.
