NBA Relocation Committee Visits Oklahoma
Four owners on the NBA relocation committee are joining commissioner David Stern in Oklahoma City on Tuesday to tour the Ford Center and meet with city and team officials to learn the latest on owner Clay Bennett’s efforts to move the Sonics, according to NBA spokesman Tim Frank.
The group is expected to talk to the media Tuesday evening and then report to the full NBA Board of Governors at the league meeting in New York on April 17-18. The board will then have up to a month to consider the committee’s recommendation.
The four owners’ representatives taking part in the tour are Jeanie Buss (Lakers), Herb Simon (Pacers), Peter Holt (Spurs) and Lewis Katz (Nets). Three other relocation committee members — Micky Arison (Heat), Ed Snider (76ers) and Chris Cohan (Warriors) — are not making the trip. [Seattle PI]
