Mark Jackson not Only Candidate for NYK Coaching Gig
Donnie Walsh has a list of prospective coaches — “a workable list,” he called it, “not too big and not too small” — and it probably begins with, but is not limited to, Mark Jackson.
Walsh was closely guarding his intentions during a conference call with reporters Tuesday. Walsh, the new Knicks president, would not say how many candidates he planned to interview, or when. But Walsh gently pushed back against the popular assumption that Jackson, the former Knicks point guard, has the job locked up.
“Everyone seems to be doing that, because I have said that I like Mark and I would talk to him and would interview him,” Walsh said. “I guess you don’t know that until you sit down and the two of you talk together.” [NY Times]
