Andrew Bynum to Be Healthy in Time for Training Camp
The medical news on Andrew Bynum was positive for the first time in a long while.
The 20-year-old center is expected to make a full recovery in time for training camp after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, the Lakers said Wednesday.
Dr. David Altchek removed some cartilage debris and smoothed some rough spots on the underside of the kneecap during a 30-minute procedure in New York.
"In three months, he should be 100 percent and ready to play," said Lakers coach Phil Jackson, who was briefed on the surgery by athletic trainer Gary Vitti and general manager Mitch Kupchak. [LA Daily News]
