Chalmers and Arthur Caught with Marijuana at Rookie Camp
It’s bad news before the season has even started for Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur, both of whom have been expelled from the NBA’s rookie orientation camp for being found in a hotel room with marijuana and women.
"They were sent home for violating program rules," NBA spokesman Brian McIntyre said.
Sources said Chalmers and Arthur, who starred on the Kansas Jayhawks’ 2008 NCAA championship team, were also fined $20,000 apiece and could start the regular season on the suspended list. But McIntyre would not confirm that.
"We’re still looking into it," McIntyre said. "Once we have all the details, appropriate sanctions will be taken."
What will this mean for their future careers? Does this decrease their chances of finding a home in the NBA? Would you have expected this from them given what you knew about their character? Drop your thoughts in the comment box below.
