Are the Knicks Trying to Trade Jamal Crawford?
While there’s been no official word from the Knicks, the word around MSG is that Jamal Crawford is on the trading block. Stephon Marbury’s promising performances this preseason have made Crawford more expendable than ever, and his bloated contract is all the more reason for the front office to try to move him.
If Marbury is fitting in, Crawford does not look confident in this offense, possibly because he doesn’t get enough touches to find a rhythm. Because Crawford’s contract extends into 2010, when the Knicks will be trying to get under the salary cap when he makes $10 million, the team would have more to gain trading Crawford at this juncture than Marbury, whose contract is expiring. – NY Post
