Danny Ainge: Darius Miles Can Play in the NBA
Troubled forward Darius Miles, trying to make a comeback, might not be finished in the NBA even after he was released by the Boston Celtics this week.
"Without question, he can play in this league," Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said. "We’re just kind of jammed up with young guys we want to develop. If something happened to us injury-wise, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to bring him back."
The Celtics signed the 27-year-old small forward to a non-guaranteed contract in August. Miles, the third overall draft pick by the Los Angeles Clippers straight out of high school eight years ago, has not played since the 2005-06 season.
