Stephon Marbury Was Spending $1 Million a Year on Tickets
If Knicks season-ticket sales are down at the Garden, the blame falls squarely on Stephon Marbury’s shoulders. Or make that his wallet.
The franchise lost its No.1 customer when Marbury declined to renew his season subscriptions for 2008-09. Marbury told the Daily News that he had spent nearly $1 million annually on Knicks tickets.
Marbury purchased countless season tickets for family and friends, including four prime seats along the baseline adjacent to the visiting team’s bench.
Those four tickets alone cost him approximately $300,000 for 41 regular-season games and three in the preseason.
