Stephon Marbury Wants All His Money from Knicks if Bought Out
It is worth noting that the Knicks didn’t call the meeting with Marbury. He called it, just as he asked for Mike D’Antoni’s advice on the situation last Friday in Washington.
When D’Antoni suggested finding another team and asking the Knicks for the difference, Marbury became irate. He told D’Antoni he’d earned that money and intended to make the Knicks pay him.
The Knicks, who are owned by Cablevision, which also owns Newsday, aren’t buying him out for the full amount — nobody does — and thus Marbury remains on the bench in expensive clothes.
