Glen Davis’ Head Smashed Window in Car Accident
The team announced that Glen Davis, who was involved in a three-car accident on the Mass Pike before Sunday’s game, will miss his second straight game tonight when the C’s go for a franchise-record 19th straight victory, at home vs. Philadelphia.
Team physician Dr. Brian McKeon determined yesterday Davis was suffering from a cervical strain – essentially a strained neck – as well as a concussion from breaking the driver’s side window of his 2008 GMC Yukon with his head. Davis, without need of a neck brace, also met with Rivers at the team’s Waltham training facility.
His status for Thursday’s Christmas Day game in Los Angeles against the Lakers is unclear.
“I think he’s fine,” said president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, who visited Davis in the hospital Sunday. “I have no idea how long this will take, but I’m guessing that it’s short. He was in good spirits.”
