What Will Become of Steve Francis?

It is often forgotten that Francis initially played well for the Magic. They were just fine with the deal at first. That didn’t last. The Magic sent him to New York (where Isiah Thomas ignored that he did not fit at all). New York shipped him to Portland (where the Trail Blazers, with no plans for him, quickly bought him out.) He returned to the Rockets at a relative bargain, about $5 million over two season, but leaves with the Rockets not considering his contributions to be worth the last few months of paying him.

He played just 10 games in the past 110, none since Dec. 15, 2007. Rick Adelman arrived in Houston assuming Francis would be his starter, but Francis never came close to winning the job. Out of shape while dragging around his injured right knee, he did not compete in practices and was outplayed.
