Jason Kidd: NYC a Big Attraction in 2010

Kidd said that one or more of the premier players definitely will be tempted to play for the Knicks.

"Oh, yeah," he said. "It’s a great place. That’s one of the best stages on professional sports. When you talk about the likes of those free agents, you can have a better situation being able to not just get one, but get 2 1/2 . So we’ll see."

(For the record, Kidd never explained how to get half of a free agent, but presumably he was talking about a second-tier player.)

When Kidd was asked if he would consider signing with the Knicks in 2010, he said: "I’m the ’09 class."

When pressed, Kidd smiled and said: "Yeah, why not? I’m going to look and see. Coach [D’Antoni] is great. I got to know him a little this summer [with the Olympic team]. D’Antoni has a great philosophy. I think people enjoy watching that."
