Rafer Alston: Stephon Marbury Has to Take Some of the Blame
Rafer Alston says that his childhood friend Stephon Marbury must accept some of the responsibility for the Knicks’ decision to ban him from the team.
"It hurts to see him in that predicament but he also has to understand that it is a situation where he has to take some of the blame for it as well," the Rockets’ guard said. "He can’t look at it as the Knicks are doing him wrong. He has to look at himself in the mirror and say, ‘Some of this is on me as well.’"
Marbury was banished from the Knicks with pay on Dec. 1. The Knicks could trade Marbury, release him or simply let him sit home until his contract expires at the end of the season.
"I’ve always hoped for the best for both parties, not just Steph because he is a friend of mine," Alston said.
