Suns Still Trying to Trade Amar’e Stoudemire to Memphis

The most prominent trade the Grizzlies passed on involved the Phoenix Suns and All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire.

Griz owner Michael Heisley acknowledged last week that he spoke directly with Phoenix owner Robert Sarver about potential trades.

Heisley told The Commercial Appeal then that “there is no deal on the table. I think they’ll go somewhere else.”

But the Suns were still in contact with the Griz as of Wednesday trying to pry away Rudy Gay, Hakim Warrick, Mike Conley and a 2009 first-round pick for Stoudemire.

Memphis declined again.
