Stromile Swift Could Join Phoenix Suns Today
The Suns’ stretches of small ball while Shaquille O’Neal is out might increase Wednesday night in Miami, where power forward Stromile Swift is expected to suit up once he signs a Suns contract for the remainder of the season.
Swift’s agent, Andy Miller, said Swift "is going to be a Phoenix Sun at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later."
Swift was expected to be in Miami Wednesday to take a physical and sign a pro-rated veteran’s minimum deal. Because Swift’s contract was bought out Sunday, he would be playoff-eligible for the Suns.
Swift, 29, should be a motivated player, having sacrificed some of his $6.2 million salary to get a chance to play elsewhere.
