Could the Knicks Pick up Marcus Williams?

The Warriors just put Marcus Williams on waivers.

You can say the former UConn star has fallen totally off the radar since the Nets traded him to Golden State last summer and I’ve heard about the issues with him personality-wise. Don Nelson quickly soured on him (nothing new there) and he’s been persona non grata with the Warriors since late January.

The Knicks could have drafted him in 2006 as the heir apparent to Stephon Marbury at the point, but Isiah Thomas opted for one of his diamond-in-the-rough decisions and took Renaldo Balkman at No. 20. The Nets quickly moved up and grabbed Williams at 22nd overall.
