D’Antoni Hinting that Knicks Could Make Big Moves?
D’Antoni gave a clear indication that the offseason will be eventful. Only rookie Danilo Gallinari — and Wilson Chandler — appear safe.
"I would think we won 29 games [before last night], I don’t envision anyone anywhere," D’Antoni said. "We’re going to try to get better everywhere. Having said that, there’s no reason he couldn’t be. Anytime you win 29 games and don’t make the playoffs, everything is open for discussion, everything is thrown against the wall."
Hughes made his return after a two-game absence from an ankle sprain, coming off the bench to score five points in 16 minutes. Chandler was moved to starting shooting guard and scored a team-high 17 points to lead seven double-figure scorers.
Chandler could be a candidate to start at starting guard next season while Hughes has one of several expiring contracts the Knicks could use to trade in a package this summer.
