Von Wafer Apologizes to Rockets for Actions on Bench

Before Friday night’s game, Von Wafer stepped into a circle of his teammates and apologized for his Game 2 actions.

In a year in which he has made so many improvements in his game — his jumper is now deadly, he attacks the rim with a purpose, he has shown he belongs in the NBA — these few moments are evidence of the most meaningful change in Wafer and his game: maturity.

Rick Adelman was so upset at Wafer on Wednesday that he asked him to leave the bench area during the fourth quarter of a playoff game.

Wafer was upset that he was taken out of the game. Competitors are like that. They want to compete and you can’t really do that from the bench.
