GSW: We Hope Stephen Jackson ‘acts like a professional’

Riley confirmed (1) that Jackson had expressed his displeasure with the direction of the team, (2) that this wasn’t the first time he has raised these issues, and (3) that the Warriors’ only publicly disclosed means of remedying the situation is to express hope that Jackson “acts like a professional” when camp starts. Obviously, there’s lots going on behind the scenes that we’re not seeing — and issuing an empty press release is a good way to address the story without doing anything else to drive down Jackson’s trade value. My hope is that they’re shopping him heavily at the moment and simply issuing strings of words to the press to bide time. But if Riley, Rowell and company actually buy into the content of the press statement as an adequate means of addressing Jackson’s dissatisfaction, we’re pretty much doomed.
