Kobe Bryant: Cavs are Hungrier than Lakers this Year
"I think last year we probably were a little hungrier, played a little harder," Bryant said. "This year, when we played them the two times, they were the hungrier team. They want to win a championship, they want to go after it, so they were playing with the sense of urgency we played with last year."
That the Lakers couldn’t match Cleveland’s level of physicality or resolve down the stretch is the biggest reason they began their season-long eight-game road trip with a humbling loss.
They dropped into a tie with the Cavs for the NBA’s best record after a 93-87 defeat, one that raised many of the same questions that plagued the Lakers before they seemed to answer them by winning a championship last June.
