Camby Traded to Blazers

In advance of Thursday’s trade deadline, a non-blockbuster trade has taken place. The Portland TrailBlazers have acquired Marcus Camby in exchange for Steve Blake, Travis Outlaw and cash. The amount of cash varies depending on what report you read, but it’s believed to be between $1.5 and $3 million.

The Blazers get help for an-injury depleted frontcourt. Camby has been healthy lately, so here’s hoping that the injury bug residing in the Portland locker room doesn’t bite him as well. The Clippers get a veteran backup for Baron Davis and a good young player in Outlaw that could prove to be a very solid piece in the years  to come.

This figures to be the first of many trades this week, as Amare Stoudemire and Tracy McGrady top the list of players that could find a new home in the coming days.
