Aaron Brooks to Be Named Most Improved Player
Sources with knowledge of the situation have confirmed to 11 Sports that Rockets point guard Aaron Brooks will be named the NBA’s Most Improved Player on Thursday.
Brooks’ averages increased in every major statistical category with the exception of free throw shooting percentage in 2009-2010.
The 3rd year man out of Oregon averaged 19.6 points per game and had 5.6 assists for a Rockets team that did better than most expected, due in large part to way Brooks played.
On January 13 Brooks had a career high 43 points in a triple overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He also became the 6th player in NBA history to make over 200 3-pointers and collect over 400 assists in a single season.
