The Knicks haven't seen or heard from Eddy Curry in more than three months. The Knicks were told Curry would arrive just after Labor Day and he didn't show up, which has been a familiar trend again over the past few weeks.
HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Believe it or not, Eddy Curry is a key part of the New York Knicks’ rebuilding efforts.
Okay, allow me to rephrase: Eddy Curry’s contract is a key part of the New York Knicks’ rebuilding efforts.
At season’s end, Curry’s $12 million per annum deal comes off the books. The Knicks can keep Curry and reap the financial windfall or include him in a package for a top talent like, say, Carmelo Anthony.
Before any scenario unfolds, they must find him. As mentioned, the Knicks lost touch with Curry, which isn’t good.
After all, Curry has had off-court issues: a murder occurred in his extended family; he had a public spat with a former employee; and he reportedly owed some unscrupulous characters money.
With such a troubling personal life, it’s hardly surprising Curry’s basketball career has fizzled.
Hopefully, he’s safe. Hopefully, nothing has happened.
