The most likely Knick to be moved -- maybe even for a first-round pick coveted by Denver -- is Anthony Randolph, whose removal from the rotation after the a loss to the Nuggets' last month directly coincided with this 11-1 run that has the Knicks at 14-9, fifth-best in the Eastern Conference.
HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: If the New York Knicks are serious about acquiring Carmelo Anthony, they’ll trade Anthony Randolph.
Despite being out of Coach Mike D`Antoni`s rotation, there’d still be interest in Randolph, a young, athletic swing in need of a change of scenery.
An opposing GM would give the Knicks a first round pick for Randolph, which they could then include in a package for Anthony.
The Knicks –even though, they’re well over .500 and gelling after years of dysfunction- are still looking to make headlines and acquire another name like Anthony.
If sacrificing Randolph furthers that goal, so be it. Expect the Knicks to move –and soon.
