Kevin Durant Offers Lil Wayne His Tickets After Thunder Deny Weezy Tickets Per Harden's Request
Lil Wayne may be sitting courtside courtesy of Kevin Durant after Thunder denied Weezy's request for tickets in game 3.
HoopsVibe's Very Quick Call: Durant better have Harden's approval or this is foul?
It all started with people catching Lil Wayne playing kissy face with the rapper Trina, James Harden's girlfriend. The incident took place at Monica's album release party in Miami a few weeks back. Every since this incident, Lil Wayne hasn't exactly been the most welcomed visitor to Oklahoma Thunder games. Rumors circulated that Harden requested Weezy not attend the games, and OKC fans were concerned it might mess with Harden's head if the guy his girlfriend might be cheating on him with was courtside yapping in his ear. Note, LIl Wayne is a Lakers fan, so this was of real concern during the Lakers vs. Thunder series.
It is official now that the Oklahoma Thunder denied Lil Wayne's request for courtside seats to game 3 of the Thunder vs. Spurs series. The Thunder claim all the seats were taken. Apparently, Kevin Durant thought this had gone on long enough and is now offering up his own personal tickets to Weezy for game 4.
Durant is quoted by USA Today as saying, "We need people like that (Weezy) around." I'd love to know the context of this quote, as it appears difficult to believe it was as benign as it appears.
The real question for everyone is what does James Harden feel about this whole mess. I mean, he's the one everyone is trying to protect. Knowing that Durant is the ultimate teammate, can we assume Durant is acting with Harden's blessing and that this beef between Weezy and Harden is squashed?
