Bad Joke Tricks James Harden Into Thinking He Was Traded To Hornets
A bad jokes trickes James Harden into thinking he had been traded to the Hornets.
HoopsVibe Very Quick Call: That's one mean joke.
The above picture was Harden's sad farewell to his Oklahoma fans. He'd been tricked moments before by a twitter rumor that went through the internet about a trade that reportedly sent him to the Hornets. Below is the initial tweet that apparently started it all.
Harden as of today has not responded to this drama. Some believe Harden never actually thought he was being traded and that he was the one pulling the prank. It seems difficult to believe Harden would really be so cruel to his Oklahoma City faithful who have shown him nothing but love.
Another option is that Harden's account was hacked. If this is true, it's hard to believe word hasn't come out yet about his account being broken into.
Our guess here at HoopsVibe is that Harden saw some of the tweets circulating the internet and believed the hype. Trade rumors involving Harden have been circulating even before the Thunder's season ended. Harden may simply have made himself too difficult to sign if he wants to get his true value. Oklahoma is a small market team and already have most of their money tied up in Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. It's difficult to imagine them being able to afford a player of Harden's caliber without him taking a serious pay cut. Either way, this was a cruel prank for both the fans of Oklahoma and Harden.
