Kobe Bryant Concedes First Time Ever
Kobe Bryant concedes Dream Team is better.
HoopsVibe's Very Quick Call: I liked it better when he was talking trash and over-confident. What's with this new cerebral Kobe?
Kobe is certainly not known to be humble? He's more the confidant, cocky; brazenly aware of his greatness type, but this time it appears the Laker's star is finally backing down.
Kobe stirred up a media wind-storm when he made statements last week that the 2012 Olympic Basketball team could beat the 1992 Dream Team. Charles Barkley reportedly laughed, Michael Jordan immediately wanted to come out of retirement and Patrick Ewing and David Robinson kept trying to figure out which under-sized small forward Kobe really thought was going to cover them. Now, it appears Kobe as re-clarified his comments. He's insists all he was saying was that the 2012 team "could" beat the Dream Team and not that they "would" beat them in an actual best-of-7.
Sounds like Kobe's lawyers read the fine print in his comments and discovered a loophole where he could completely change what he said, but of course never admit he was ever wrong. That would be heresy.
So Kobe's new statement to the press is, "I didn't say we were a better team. But if you think we can't beat that team one time? Like I'm going to say no, that we'd never beat them. They are a better team. The question was 'Can we beat them?' Yes we can. Of course we can.
Yeah, so for everyone scoring at home that's Kobe's version of Oops. Had us at HoopsVibe wondering what he told Vanessa when she busted him cheating. It might have gone something like this:
Vanessa: Did you cheat?
Vanessa: But I'm holding pictures of you cheating. Plus, women are crawling out of every corner of LA saying you had sex with them. And you were once up for raping a girl.
Kobe: I said, Nope.
Vanessa: And how is that possible?
Kobe: Yo uasked if I "did" cheat. I"m actually still in the process of cheating, so no, I didn't cheat. I still am.
Ah, I loveit when Kobe goes cerebral on the media.
