Derrick Rose buys fiance mansion, Demarcus Cousins is suspended indefinitely
Derrick Rose just recently bought his fiance a $9 million mansion.
Hoopsvibe's quick call: Christmas came early in the Rose household.
According to mediatakeout.com, Derrick Rose just bought his fiance, Mieka, a ridiculous mansion for her, him, and their newborn son to live in. Talk about the best Christmas ever!
Apparently, a source close to the couple confirmed that Rose bought it for his family to live in but get this; he only put his fiance and his son, PJ, on the deed. Rose himself isn't even on title to the property! That means that for all intensive purposes, even though Rose will be living there, the house legally belongs to his son and fiance. And the best part about it, Rose paid for the ridiculous pad in all cash, so the family doesn't have to worry about those pesky mortgage payments!
Probably doesn't suck being an NBA baller...
In other news, Demarcus Cousins has been suspended indefinitely by the Sacramento Kings.
Hoopsvibe's second quick call: Sounds like the Rose family got a much better Christmas present than Demarcus Cousins.
The Sacramento Kings announced that the third-year center has been suspended indefinitely, after he went off on Kings head coach Keith Smart following the Kings 97-85 loss to the LA Clippers on Friday night. The verbal tirade happened in the locker room at Staples Center after the game.
According to yardbarker.com, "Cousins allegedly showed a complete lack of respect for his head coach, going on a torrent that was filled with insults and profanity."
It seems that the verbal attack on Smart after the game was perpetuated by the fact that Cousins was told to stay in the locker room for the second half after an argument ensued between the player and coach at halftime. I can only imagine that's what caused Cousins to lose it following the game. The Kings center was having a decent game with nine points and five rebounds in the first half.
Kings team president, Geoff Petrie, made the following statement:
“We met with DeMarcus (Saturday) morning and talked to him about it some more. And we want to try some path going forward where these type of situations don’t continue to present themselves. The events that unfolded were completely inappropriate."
Whatever Cousins said, it clearly wasn't good. And it's not the first time that Cousins has had to face disciplinary action. He has already been suspended twice by the league so far this season.
And Merry Christman, Hoopsvibers!
