Kobe Makes Play For Rondo?
Kobe Bryant makes it known publicly that he would love Rondo wearing the Lakers' purple and gold.
HoopsVibe's Very Quick Call: Would the Lakers ever be able to acquire and injured Rondo from Boston?
Although it might for difficult for Celtics fans to picture Rajon Rondo wearing the Lakers' colors, it's not tough for Kobe. He gushed over Rondo in a recent interview with Jackie MacMullan.
"You don't want Rondo? Send him my way," Kobe declared. "I love everything about him. Everything. I love his attitude; I love his chippiness, his edge, his intellect, his know-it-allness. All of it. That's what makes championship players."
"What guard have you seen at his size that will get you 18 assists, 17 boards and 20 points all in one game? That's unheard of. I love that kid. I always make a point of talking to him during All-Star [weekend]. He's one of my favorites."
The reality is though that Rondo loves Boston and Boston loves Rondo. Although Kobe respects Rondo and would love to see if he could fix the chemistry problems in Laker Nation there is no way in hell Boston would ever let him go. He is there present and there future. Plus, it's very difficult to picture Rondo jumping ship as easily as a certain 3-point shooting veteran did last season (Ray Allen).
No, it's fair to say that Kobe respects Rondo. It's also insane to say Rondo would ever leave the Celtics for the Lakers. He bleeds green the same way Kevin Garnett does. Those two are Celtics for life.
