The Magic have now matched their franchise record of futility with the 17 straight losses, which they also did during the 1991-1992 season.

New Orleans had six players score in double digits, as Jamaal Magloire had a monster night while scoring 20 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.

P.J. Brown and George Lynch each added 10 points for the Hornets, who captured both games of the home-and-home series against Orlando. Brown hauled in 10 boards and David Wesley pitched in 13 points.

Tracy McGrady had a game-high 29 points on 12-of-31 shooting. Tyronn Lue added 20 points and handed out six assists for the Magic, who fell to 0-11 at home this season. Orlando has now lost seven consecutive games since firing coach Doc Rivers on November 17.

A Darrell Armstrong three-pointer pushed the lead to nine just four minutes into the final stanza. Armstrong haunted his old team by scoring 14 off the bench.

Andrew DeClercq later hit a driving lay-up and the lead was just five with 7:12 left in the final stanza. After a Lue bucket reduced the deficit to three, the Hornets' defense caused two consecutive steals that resulted in five quick points, and just like that the Hornets' lead was back up to eight points. Davis hit a three-pointer and Armstrong hit a driving lay-up in the 5-0 burst.

The Magic made one last push and were down five with 3:52 left. However, Drew Gooden had a chance to close the gap to three but missed two key free throws. After a defensive stop, Lue found DeClerq in the lane for an easy lay-up and a three-point game.

Gooden had a strong game for the Magic as he scored 16 off the bench, and DeClercq added 14.

Davis and Armstrong were too much down the stretch, as Davis penetrated the lane and scored on a driving shot that pushed the lead to seven points with 1:46 left.

A Lynch three-pointer sealed the contest for the Hornets in the closing moments of the game.

After a closely contest first quarter the Hornets led 28-26.

The second stanza saw both teams match each other basket for basket. Davis stole a Magic inbounds pass, spotted Magloire under the basket for an easy two and the Hornets led 49-48 with 2:58 left before halftime.

Minutes later, a short jumper by Davis gave the Hornets a three-point lead heading into the locker room. After 24 minutes of play the Hornets enjoyed a 57-54 advantage.

Magloire poured in 17 first-half points and grabbed eight rebounds, while the McGrady led all scorers with 18 at the break.

The Hornets took advantage of poor Orlando shooting to gain an eight-point lead midway through the third stanza. At that time it was the biggest lead of the game.

Davis and Wesley hit three consecutive baskets between them and the lead was pushed up to 11 points with 5:41 left in the third. The Magic would slice the lead to eight, but never get any closer and after 36 minutes of play they trailed 76-68.

The Hornets have an all-time record of 16-9 against the Magic.
