=== Miami Heat Team Report - January 21 ===
(Sports Network) - The Miami Heat fell to the Boston Celtics, 86-84, on Tuesday at AmericanAirlines Arena. Miami was led by Udonis Haslem's 18 points and career-high 17 rebounds. Eddie Jones added 17 points and Lamar Odom had 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Heat, who have lost six of their last seven. Miami was without center Brian Grant, whose streak of 123 consecutive games played was snapped because of a bruised left knee. The Heat led 79-70 after Rafer Alston's three-pointer with 5:38 remaining in the game, but they scored just five more points after that. Boston ended the game with a 16-5 burst, sparked by consecutive threes from Walter McCarty and Mike James that pulled the Celtics within 79-76. Paul Pierce had five points during the flurry, and Mark Blount's bucket in the final minute made it 85-84 Boston. James hit a free throw for the final margin, and Miami's last second attempts failed when Alston rimmed a three-point attempt at the buzzer. Miami outrebounded the Celtics, 52-34. The Heat fell to 11-7 at home this season. Jones has scored in double digits in five straight and nine of the last 10 games. He is averaging 17.2 points per game in the last five contests. The Heat are off until Friday when they host Jason Kidd and the New Jersey Nets. MIA |
