=== Sacramento Kings Team Report - March 3 ===
(Sports Network) - Chris Webber made a triumphant return to the Sacramento lineup, recording 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Kings to a 113-106 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers at ARCO Arena. Webber, who started and played 30 minutes, was sidelined the first 50 games of the year recovering from off-season knee surgery and missed the last eight games due to a suspension for lying to a grand jury and violating the NBA's drug policy. Brad Miller and Peja Stojakovic each added 23 points for the Kings, winners of back-to-back contests and six of their last seven. Mike Bibby and Vlade Divac chipped in with 13 and 12 points, respectively. With the Kings trailing by one, the teams traded one-point leads until Stojakovic picked off a pass by Marko Jaric and ran away for a layup to give the Kings a little breathing room at 107-104. Peja Drobnjak hit another jumper to cut it to 107-106, but Divac made both of his free throws after getting fouled with 23 ticks left to extend it back to a three-point margin. Los Angeles called for time but still could not get the ball in on the ensuing inbound, resulting in a crucial five-second violation to the disbelief of coach Mike Dunleavy. Sacramento hit its remaining free throws to close out the win. The Kings will return to action on Thursday against the Philadelphia 76ers. SAC |
