Etan Thomas signs offer sheet with the Bucks

Jul 15th, 2004
Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Washington Wizards center Etan Thomas has signed an offer sheet with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Wizards now have 15 days to match the offer to keep the veteran big man.

"We will review the proposed contract over the next 15 days and determine the best course of action for our team," said Wizards president of basketball operations Ernie Grunfeld. "Until the completion of the 15-day period, we will have no further comment concerning the proposed contract."

Thomas was the 12th overall pick out of Syracuse in 2000 by Dallas. He was traded to Washington midway through his rookie campaign, despite missing the entire season with a broken toe.

Over the next two seasons with Washington, Thomas combined to play just 85 games. However, he had his best year as a pro last season, averaging career- highs of 8.9 points and 6.7 rebounds, while playing in 79 games (15 starts).
