James and Allen named NBA Players of the Week

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Seattle SuperSonics guard Ray Allen were named Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, November 8 through Sunday, November 14.

James averaged 29 points, 9.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game last week, as Cleveland posted a 3-0 mark.

On November 9 versus Atlanta, he collected 25 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals in a win over the Hawks. The next day against Phoenix, James poured in 38 points and grabbed 10 boards, helping the Cavaliers to an overtime win. He then completed his stellar week with a 24-point, nine-rebound effort in a triumph over Washington on Saturday.

Allen helped Seattle to a 4-0 mark last week by averaging 28.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest.

He netted 30 points and pulled down seven boards in a victory over Denver on November 9. Three days later, Allen scored 29 points and handed out seven assists in a win against Toronto. On Sunday versus Memphis, he had a season- high 34 points, as the Sonics defeated the Grizzlies.

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Cleveland's Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal, the Clippers' Corey Maggette, the Lakers' Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom, Miami's Shaquille O'Neal, Milwaukee's Michael Redd, Minnesota's Kevin Garnett, Philadelphia's Allen Iverson, Portland's Zach Randolph and San Antonio's Tim Duncan.
