Yao undergoes ankle surgery

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Houston Rockets center Yao Ming had successful
surgery to remove a bone spur in his left ankle.
According to the team, the 7-foot-6 Yao had the arthroscopic procedure on Thursday night and is expected to start rehab in a few weeks. Yao finished the 2004-05 season with career highs in points per game (18.3), field-goal percentage (.553) and blocks (160). The three-time All-Star was the first overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft.
