Baron Davis, Wade capture NBA weekly honors

Dec 5th, 2005
New York, NY (Sports Network) - A pair of high-profile guards, Golden State's Baron Davis and Miami's Dwyane Wade, were named the NBA's top performers for the week ending December 4.

Davis led the first-place Warriors (12-6) to a 3-0 week by averaging 21 points and 13 assists per game to capture Western Conference honors.

The guard notched two double-doubles during the span, including a 25-point, 16-assist effort in a 113-106 win over Sacramento on November 30.

Wade continued to carry the Heat's scoring load in the absence of center Shaquille O'Neal, averaging 28 points, 4.5 rebounds and six assists during Miami's 3-1 week to nab the Eastern Conference award.

He tied a season-high with 33 points in the Heat's 107-94 victory over the New York Knicks on November 28 and showed off his defensive skills with five steals in a 96-74 rout of Atlanta on November 30.

Other nominees for Players of the Week included Boston's Paul Pierce, Dallas' Jason Terry, Detroit's Richard Hamilton, Milwaukee's Mo Williams, Philadelphia's Allen Iverson, Phoenix's Boris Diaw, Seattle's Rashard Lewis and Ray Allen and Toronto's Chris Bosh.
