Allen, the team's leading scorer at 25.3 points per game, was inactive for the contest with a strained tendon in his right ankle.

"We all came here thinking Ray could play," Sonics coach Bob Hill said. "Damien (Wilkins) got his shot and I was proud of him."

Lewis though picked up the slack by shooting 10-of-16 from the field and was one of six Seattle players in double figures. Chris Wilcox tallied 18 points and nine boards for the Sonics, who have won two of three overall and seven in a row over the Hawks.

Joe Johnson had 34 points to pace Atlanta, which has dropped eight of its last 11 contests.

The Hawks were never really in the contest as the Sonics led the entire way. A jumper by Lewis capped a 14-4 blitz to start the game and it was 29-18 after 12 minutes.

Seattle led by double digits most of the second quarter, on the way to a 52-39 halftime cushion.

A Johnson three-pointer brought Atlanta within 58-51 with 8:12 left in the third, but the Sonics maintained control with eight consecutive points, finished by Johan Petro's hook shot.

Atlanta again tried a run and got to within 69-63 following Josh Smith's layup, but Lewis' layup represented the final points of the third for a 77-63 margin.

The Hawks never got the lead under double digits in the fourth.

Luke Ridnour had 14 points, while Nick Collison totaled 11 points and nine boards for Seattle.

"We just went out and played," Collison said. "It was not a conscious thing to do anything extra. We just played."

Smith had 11 points and Zaza Pachulia scored 10 for Atlanta, which shot 38.6 percent.
