East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - New Jersey Nets point guard Jason Kidd was fined $20,000 for criticizing the officials after Tuesday's 92-91 loss in Detroit.

Chauncey Billups made two free throws with seven seconds left to give the Pistons a one-point lead, and on the other end Vince Carter got contact from Rasheed Wallace, but no foul was called as the jumper rimmed out.

Nets head coach Lawrence Frank had to be restrained after the contest.

"We come to work, and we work extremely hard at this, only for the officials to screw us," said Kidd after the game. "We fought, but that doesn't mean anything when you have the officials take over the game like that. You go with the Three Blind Mice, and it's just sad that Tom (official Tom Washington) screwed up that game for us."
