NBA baller works out first date with Miss Tennesse via Twitter?
Memphis Grizzlies forward Quincy Pondexter took to Twitter Wednesday to try and get a date with Miss Tennessee slash total babe Chandler Lawson; and it worked!
Hoopsvibe’s quick call: When you’re good you’re good.
It all started with this simple question Tweeted out by Pondexter Wednesday morning: "Who won Miss Tennessee this year?" A few hours later, the current reigning Miss Tennessee responded, "@QuincyPondexter hi! Heard you were looking for me? #gogrizz"
Chalk this up as another example of why being a baller in the NBA is awesome. You can send messages to random babes you don’t even know and get a response. I’m sure it also helped that Lawson is obviously a Grizzlies fan and whether or not Pondexter actually knew who Miss Tennesse was before he tweeted with curiousity, it was a good move on his part to act like he didn’t. If that’s what he was doing.
Pondexter averaged 8.9 points per game in the playoffs, slightly more than the 6.4 points per game he put up in 59 games played for Memphis this season. The Grizzlies were just swept by the Spurs in the 2nd round.
But clearly Pondexter has game off the court as well. Looks like he’s secured himself a date with Miss Tennessee. Read the Twitter banter below…
